The Center for Spiritual Living – Albany is a religious / spiritual and educational non-profit organization grounded in the principles of Science of Mind and New Thought teachings.
Our Center was formed approximately 50 years ago on the inspiration and initiative of Leo and Betty Stockman. On May 29, 1969, Leo Stockman’s Religious Science thesis was approved by Raymond Charles Barker and subsequently he received recognition from the International Association of Religious Science Churches (IARSC) Board of Directors granting his request for Recognition as Society Leader of Religious Science, to lead a group in Albany, NY.
Ernest Holmes is recognized as the founder of the International Religious Science movement and known for his fundamental treatise called the "The Science of Mind" which has become the textbook of the Science of Mind philosophy. Mr. Holmes was a scholar of Western and Eastern religions and philosophies, and ultimately came to propound a "core concept" which he described as a "golden thread of truth" that ran through all of the world's religions, as well as in science and philosophy.
It is under the guidance of these renown metaphysical scholars that the Center for Spiritual Living – Albany continues the vision of making this world “a place that works for everyone.”
We use the Science of Mind to reveal lives of joy, peace, wisdom, love, unity and prosperity.
Two of our governing slogans are "Change your Thinking and Change your Life" as well as "God In You, As You, Is You."
The Albany Science of Mind Center is here to support your personal and spiritual growth and the fulfillment of your life purpose, joy and peace by fostering greater self - awareness and a nurturing relationship with your Divine Source.
